Day 8.

Forced to work at home. I will comply of course, hating it all the while.

I know some people love it. If I had an office or den, I might.

J told both teachers he didn’t think this was working well.

His point was made by the shaming post one of the teachers made NAMING all the kids who hadn’t done each assignment. I explained that to N. Sigh. I would be either angered by the kid who lied to me or the teacher who didn’t take extenuating circumstances into consideration.

I know that at least one of those kids isn’t getting any help from home.

I’ve been trying to help one of the other kid’s mother’s out, since she doesn’t speak English.

Duke is a crazy puppy and he actually gave Misha his ox tail as an offering. Then they played shark for a while.

Or seal, which is what they look like playing to me.

I think one thing that this whole scenario is exposing is how not everyone has the same ways and means.

I mean, not even touching the really scary scenarios that some people live under, not every house has a computer for every kid. Not every house has a quiet space. Not every house has someone who can sit down and help with homework, or is willing to.

There is a lot of entitlement that people just wave a wand and there's no change from the office. I do not like this... work didn't provide me anything to work with so... what am I supposed to do? What are we as a collective of people who show up to do the work supposed to do?

There was so many things that went wrong today. My work obviously could do what they needed to, but in pieces.
